The boundary-pushing Takuya Nakamura hits Invisible Wind Factory in Liverpool on Friday 21st November 2025 for a one-of-a-kind session at SubHarmonic’s Jungle & Jazz. Delivering his trademark blend of jungle, drum & bass, UK garage, and cosmic jazz straight from the underground scene.

Born in Tokyo and now based in New York, Nakamura has built a reputation as a versatile artist – mixing deep jazz improvisations with the energetic breaks and bass of jungle and DnB. His performances take listeners on a journey through different tempos and sounds: brass sounds weaving through heavy rhythms, live synths over complex drum patterns, and moments of soulful ambient music mixed with intense warehouse vibes.

A multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer, Nakamura studied under jazz legend George Russell at the New England Conservatory before moving to NYC. There, he became active in the city’s experimental and jungle music scenes. Over time, he has worked with Quincy Jones, DJ Logic, ASAP Rocky, Laurie Anderson, Wu-Tang Clan, and Jojo Mayer, sharing his unique style across stages and studios worldwide.

Recently, his jazz-influenced jungle and DnB sets on The Lot Radio (NYC) have gained new fans in the UK and beyond. His mixes blend liquid atmospheres, garage swing, and intense breakbeats. Expect live trumpet and synth layered over pounding jungle drum edits – a sound that feels just at home in NYC’s warm underground clubs as Liverpool’s warehouse raves.

Supporting him are Bristol’s jazz-junglists Tokio Station – a collective repped by Artificial Red, Cheff the Boy, and Fez the Kid, plus live musicians Miranda Faye, Walter Feeney and Rhi the Curious.

Local and UK-wide supporting acts include Hardcore Babes, adamine, and Funk Alchemist, joined by musicians Shagrug, Ollie Madeira, Samuel Booth, and Michael Napier.

All of this unfolds beneath an immersive light show, turning Liverpool’s iconic Invisible Wind Factory into a colourful space full of rhythm, bass, and light.

This event is one for the heads – a night where jungle meets jazz, and DnB/UKG gets cosmic.
