ORACLE

HULL CITY COUNCIL

2020

Originally built as a floating weather predicting installation on the waters of Hull’s central quay, the ‘Oracle’ interpreted real time data from the Met Office into unique forecasts combining science and superstition. The tower displayed symbols representing good and bad omens, foretelling the next day’s weather and fortunes, as part of a dynamic performance combining light, sound and lasers. Oracle was designed and fabricated by our team in Liverpool and then craned into the water in Hull, where it was on display for 3 months
